Allison Knowlton
Executive Director
In June 2024, Mrs. Knowlton become the second director of CCLC. She replaced former director, Erie Brown who pioneered CCLC in 1999 and had been our only serving director. Allison served on the board of CCLC since 2015 and stepped off the board to become director. Allison is from New Zion, SC where she currently lives with her husband, Benny, and their two children Benjamin (13) and Dory (11). Allison is a graduate of Winthrop University and holds a degree in Political Science and History. After graduating college, the Lord called Allison to his work amongst the nations in Northern India. Following the Lord has always been an adventure for Allison. Leading CCLC is the next adventure on her path. She is excited to be a part of what the Lord is doing through CCLC.
Kim A. DuRant
Program Coordinator
Mrs. Kim DuRant, a graduate of Columbia College, holds a degree in Speech Pathology and a master’s in Educational Administration. She has more than 15 years of experience in Sumter District 17 where she was a speech therapist to elementary students. Mrs. DuRant has more than 25 years’ experience in teaching and leading various youth activities within her church including music, VBS, and Sunday school. She joined CCLC in 2000. Kim is married to Harry DuRant and has two adult children and three grandsons.
Linda Pierce
Administrative Assistant
Mrs. Linda Pierce has more than 15 years’ experience in church administration. She accepted Christ as her Savior in March of 1960. Acting upon her desire for public school students to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ, she joined CCLC in 2018. Linda is married to Bobby Pierce and together they have 4 adult children and five grandchildren.

Sally Knauer
Third-Fifth Grades @ Walker Gamble Elementary
Sally Knauer became a follower of Christ during her 8th grade year of middle school. She has a BA in English/Secondary Education from Bradley University and taught high school English in Kentucky prior to becoming a full time homemaker and homeschooler of her three, now adult, children. She and her husband Jeff attend Harmony Church, Sumter, where Sally has planned, directed and administrated their VBS program for 15+ years and serves as Children's Ministry Coordinator. Sally was our first teacher at Walker Gamble in 2018.
Theresa Zygmont
Third-Fifth Grades @ Walker Gamble Elementary
Theresa Zygmont has known her Lord and Savior for 38+ years and is forever a student in the School of Christ. Along the path she has enjoyed teaching children (infant - High School) through BSF, Sunday School, VBS, Drama / Music and was director of youth group at her previous Church. She was also a commissioner of inner city missions to initiate Sunday School and Nursery programs for a number of churches.
Theresa is in a loving marriage with Chet Zygmont. They have six children who were all homeschooled and are now excelling adults.
Teaching children to shine for Christ by using fun and games is one of her many passions. Theresa's heart prayer is to labor in the Lord's harvest with HIS children that none may perish.
Kathy N. Daniels
Third-Fifth Grades @ Manning Elementary
Kathy grew up in Columbia, SC, and received an Associate Degree in Banking and Finance and Business Management from Midlands Technical College. She is married to Charlie Daniels and they have two children, Trey and Katherine and two grandsons. Kathy is active in her church, New Harmony Presbyterian, teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir, and leading in the women’s ministry.
Frankie Green
Sixth-Eighth Grades @ East Clarendon Middle
Frankie is a certified teacher in the state of South Carolina. She obtained her degree from Winthrop College (Bachelor of Science in Special Education and Elementary Education). She is a lifelong resident of Clarendon County with 26 years of teaching experience in District 3. Frankie is a member of Turbeville Southern Methodist Church, and has led and participated in various youth ministries from VBS to short-term missions leader. She is a past president of the Southern Methodist Church Eastern Conference Women's Missionary Society and annually engages in summer missions to Honduras. She is married to George and they have two adult children. Frankie taught our first classes in Turbeville in 2016.

Merritt L. Floyd, jr. (Rett)
Ninth-Twelfth Grades @ East Clarendon High School
Rett started his education as a BS double major in secondary education and Bible with a history minor at Free Will Baptist Bible College (now Welch college). Then he completed his MEd at Francis Marion College (now university) through Winthrop University and carried national board certification for 20 years.
Rett taught for 38 years in Clarendon county schools primarily teaching history/social studies at East Clarendon Middle School before becoming joining our team.
Rett is from Turbeville where he has been happily married to his wife, Tina, for 30 years. They have three children, one son and two daughters. He enjoys serving his church, Horse Branch FWB Church, where he serves on the deacon board as well as a Sunday school teacher, small group Bible teacher, and in the praise team
Rett enjoys the opportunity of teaching in CCLC in his retirement. He believes it is a great chance to share eternal truths with kids who may never hear it otherwise.
